Last month’s election may have been a disaster for environmental progress at the national level–but state-level results tell a different story, as shown in my latest piece for Columbia Insight. This story looks at some of the big wins for a stable climate and a healthy environment coming out of the 2024 election. And there are significant wins to celebrate–from the defeat of a ballot initiative that would have repealed the state’s most important climate law, to the election of a new State Lands Commissioner who has vowed to stop the logging of older forests on state lands.
