Forests

Forests and other carbon-rich ecosystems are our best defense against climate change–which is why I’ve been writing about forest issues a lot, especially when it comes to protecting old-growth and mature trees in the Pacific Northwest where I live. It’s imperative that we protect the last remaining intact forests and allow those that have already been damaged to regenerate. Yet, today they face a host of threats, from old ones to new dangers like the wood biomass industry. Fortunately, more and more people are starting to recognize the importance role forests play regulating Earth’s climate, and there’s a growing movement to protect them before it’s too late.

See below for some of my recent pieces about forests.
