Nick is the founder and director of Reconnect Earth, which works for a socially and ecologically just future by fostering and growing a network of empowered young leaders to sustain grassroots social movements for years to come. Reconnect Earth runs experiential outdoor programs for college-age students, including our signature summer backpacking trips focused on learning about environmental issues, social justice, and activism while experiencing some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pacific Northwest.
Reconnect Earth trips are about exercising your mind as much as your body. You’ll explore topics like climate change impacts on public lands, Indigenous sovereignty and colonialism in the Northwest, regional ecology and natural history, and grassroots organizing skills. Along the way you will have the opportunity to form a deeper sense of connection with public lands while hiking through old-growth forests, camping in subalpine meadows, or seeing mountain glaciers at close range.
