Yes on 1631

In 2018 I volunteered as a Climate Justice Steward for the Yes on 1631 Campaign, a grassroots effort to pass a ballot initiative that would have implemented socially just climate solutions in Washington State. This work involved coordinating teams of volunteer signature gatherers and door-to-door canvassers in the lead-up to that year’s November elections. Unfortunately, in the face of massive opposition from the oil industry Initiative 1631 did not pass. However, we showed there is widespread support for climate action in Washington and laid the groundwork for a suite of climate and environmental policies passed by the state legislature in 2019.
